Playing the Lottery Myths

Even in the most chaotic and random of games, we still see patterns that do no exist. It is very hard for us to get over the fact that a game of lotto is totally unpredictable. This has led to many superstitious myths about picking lottery numbers. So, here are the 3 biggest myths I see 4d Result Today Malaysia and hear on playing the lottery:

1. Numbers that have come up less in the past are more likely to come up in the future.

This is what psychologists call "Gamblers Fallacy" - The idea that past random events impact on future random events. The fact is, lotto draws are completely random events. Lotto balls have no memory of past draws. You can test this for yourself using a coin. Flip a coin 100 times and write down the results. You'll find that past flips had no impact on future flips.

2. Perfect ordered sequences of numbers are less likely to come up than random sequences of numbers.

It's hard for humans to believe that if you pick 1 2 3 4 5 6 7, you are just likely to win than if you picked 7 random numbers like 18 15 39 4 27 17 37. While the chances of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 coming up in exact order is highly unlikely, so is the chances that 18 15 39 4 27 17 37 come up in that exact order next lottery draw. We must also keep in mind that most lottery draws do not require that we pick our numbers in the correct order of sequence.

3. It doesn't matter what numbers you pick as every number has the same chance of being picked.

While the second part of this statement is true, it stills matters what numbers you choose when it comes to your expected winnings. Certain numbers such as birthdays (1-31) are more widely picked than other numbers. This leads to large groups of people sharing prizes with others. So in order to prevent sharing your prize with others, it's best to stay away from birthdays.

Now that you understand these 3 myths you can make smarter decisions when making your next picks. If you want to make things even easier, you may be interested in looking at a lottery system I created called Lotto Thief. It can help you pick random numbers and filter out commonly picked numbers, so that when you do finally win a prize, you don't have to share it with too many others.
